Revel RugbyREVEL RUGBY

How much does a junior rugby tour cost, and how do clubs pay for it?

The honest answer to the first question every parent asks: what the price is made of, what changes it, what is included and how the money is paid without the club becoming a bank.

The first thing a parent asks when a tour is announced is "how much?", and the first thing an organiser learns is that the answer is "it depends" in about four different ways. This guide explains what those four are, so you can go to your families with a number and a reason for it.

What the price is made of

Every Revel festival package is priced per person, whether that person is a player, a parent or a three-year-old sibling, because every person needs a bed. The per-person price bundles:

  • Team entry to the festival and access to all your scheduled matches.
  • Accommodation on the holiday park for the stay window, usually three nights.
  • Medals for every player in the non-competitive age groups; medals for all finalists and trophies for winners in the competitive ones.
  • On-site first aid for the whole festival.
  • A named Revel tour manager who walks the organiser through the booking.
  • Financial protection under the UK Package Travel Regulations on every booking.

The four things that move the number

1. Which festival

Each festival has its own from-price, driven mostly by the parks it uses and the time of year. At the time of writing (September 2026) the UK festival weekends start from under £90 per person at the most affordable Somerset parks, rising to roughly £125–£150 at the premium coastal resorts in North Wales and the North West. The European partner festivals, which include the tour arrangements, start from roughly £440 (Ghent, with coach and ferry) to around £700 (Portugal). Every festival page carries its live from-price, and that number, not this paragraph, is the one to quote.

2. Which park, and which lodge

This is the biggest variable and it is a family-level choice, not a club-level one. A standard caravan and a hot-tub lodge on the same park can differ by a good margin per person, and a five-star resort costs more than a value park down the road. Because each family picks its own accommodation when it books, one club can span the whole range without the organiser having to negotiate it.

3. How many in the unit

Accommodation is a unit sleeping four, six or eight, so the per-person price falls as the unit fills. Two parents and one player in a six-berth pay more each than a family of five in the same caravan. Families sharing (two players and a parent each, say) is the classic way to bring the number down.

4. Extras

Extras sit outside the package and are added only if the club wants them: coach travel from the club, a stadium day, surf lessons, go-karts, an evening meal for the whole squad. Tell us what the squad is into and we price it in as a line, so families can see what is the festival and what is the extra.

What is not in the price

Travel to the park (unless coach travel is added), food beyond what the park package includes, and travel insurance, which is a mandatory requirement for every traveller and which each family arranges for itself. We can point you at options.

How the club pays: nobody is the bank

The old way was one parent collecting deposits at training, a club bank account, a spreadsheet and six months of chasing. It is why a lot of tours never happened.

The Revel way is Clubhouse. Your quote becomes one share link. It goes in the parents' group chat and each family books its own places, picks its own accommodation from live availability and pays Revel directly. Specifically:

  • A deposit secures the family's place at the time of booking. Deposits are non-refundable, which is what holds the accommodation.
  • Instalments spread the rest. Families pay whenever suits them; the only rule is that the balance lands no later than ten weeks before the tour.
  • Reminders come from Revel, not from the organiser.
  • The organiser's dashboard shows who has booked, who has paid what and where everyone is staying, live.

The club never handles the money and never carries the risk. If one family drops out, it is that family's booking, not a hole in the club's account.

Cancellation, in plain terms

Cancellations are in writing from the group leader. More than 70 days before departure the charge is loss of deposit only; closer than that, the charges step up towards departure, and the full scale is in the terms. Every booking is confirmed by email with the total price, the payment schedule and the cancellation terms in it, so nobody is working from memory.

Making it affordable for the whole section

  • Announce early. A deposit in October and instalments to February is a very different ask from a lump sum in March.
  • Steer families to the right park. If price is what decides whether a family comes, point them at the value park; the festival is the same.
  • Share units. Two families in an eight-berth beats two families in two six-berths.
  • Keep extras optional. Price the stadium day as a line, not a condition.
  • Club fundraising still works, and it is easier to run against a per-person number that is already fixed.

Getting your number

The instant quote prices a festival, park and party size in a couple of minutes. For a bigger or mixed club, or anything with extras, send us the outline and a named tour manager comes back within one working day with a full quote. Either way you go to the parents with a per-person price and an explanation of what is behind it, which is most of the battle.

Price it for your club

Tell us the festival you are looking at, your age groups and roughly how many are travelling. We come back within one working day with dates, availability and a per-person price — or use the instant quote to price a festival, park and party size right now.

Phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, and WhatsApp is always on. Contact the team.
