GIRLS RUGBY

Girls Rugby Tours and Festivals

Girls' rugby has been the fastest-changing part of most club junior sections, and the touring calendar has not always kept up. So here is exactly what we run for girls teams, what we can promise and what we can't — and the question we would rather you asked us first.

FESTIVALS WITH GIRLS CATEGORIES

Which Revel festivals have girls-only categories?

Three of our 2027 UK festivals run girls-only categories as standard: Revel Rugby Devon, Revel Rugby Somerset and Revel Rugby Cheshire. Each runs Girls Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16.

Revel Rugby North Wales can run girls categories too where there is demand — it is early in the season and entries shape the format, so tell us your age group and we will tell you where it stands.

They are girls-only categories, entered separately from the boys' age groups — your girls team enters as a girls team and plays in the girls competition.

Abroad, the Ghent Easter tournament in Belgium runs a Girls Under 18 category and a Women's category, and in some years an Under 16 as well. If Under 16 is the one you need, ask us and we will confirm it with the organiser before you commit to anything.

What does a girls team actually get?

Here is the part we will put in writing, because it is true every single time.

Every girls category is Under 12 and above, so they all run as competitive rugby: medals for all finalists and trophies for the winners of each final, presented on stage in front of your families with the music up.

The weekend itself: accommodation on the holiday park as part of your package, so the girls stay together as a squad and their families stay with them, with the pool, the arcade and the evening entertainment on site. On-site first aid across the whole festival. A named Revel tour manager who takes the organiser through the booking rather than leaving them with a form.

What we won't promise you

We will not tell you in advance how many games your girls team will get, or who you'll be drawn against.

Girls entries move late and they move unpredictably, festival by festival and age group by age group. Any operator who gives you a guarantee in September for an April weekend is guessing, and if the entries don't land it is your girls left standing, not the operator. What we do instead is tell you the truth as it stands, whenever you ask — entries are visible to us in real time. Rather than a promise we can't keep, you get an answer we can.

Tell us your age group and we'll tell you who's already entered

Send us the festival you are looking at and the age group your girls play in. We come back — within one working day — with the clubs already entered in that category, how entries are tracking, and an honest read on whether to hold your place now or wait a few weeks.

If the entries aren't there yet in your age group, we will say so. And if they are, you will be booking on facts rather than on a brochure line.

TELL US YOUR AGE GROUP

Can we arrange a trip just for our girls team?

Yes. Alongside the festivals we arrange tailored rugby trips for girls teams — fixtures, travel, accommodation and a tour manager, built around your squad, your dates and your budget rather than a fixed tournament weekend.

That is the route a lot of girls sections take when they want a trip of their own rather than a slot in a wider festival. Tell us the squad, the ages and roughly when, and we will cost it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Which Revel rugby festivals run girls-only categories?

Three 2027 UK festivals run girls-only categories as standard: Revel Rugby Devon, Revel Rugby Somerset and Revel Rugby Cheshire, each with Girls Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16. North Wales can run them where there is demand. Abroad, the Ghent Easter tournament runs a Girls Under 18 and a Women's category, and sometimes an Under 16.

What age groups do the girls categories cover?

At the UK festivals the girls-only categories are Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16. Ghent runs Girls Under 18 and a Women's category, and sometimes an Under 16. If your squad sits outside those ages, ask us — a tailored trip for your girls team is often the better answer.

Do girls play against boys' teams?

No. The girls categories are girls-only and are entered separately from the boys' age groups — a girls team enters as a girls team and plays in the girls competition.

What do the girls categories play for — medals or trophies?

Both. The girls categories are Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16, which all run as competitive rugby: every finalist receives a medal and the winners of each final receive trophies, presented on stage after the finals in front of your families.

Where does a girls team stay at a festival?

Accommodation on the holiday park is part of the package, so the squad and their families stay together on site with the pool, arcade and evening entertainment. Families choose their own accommodation from live availability and pay Revel directly.

Can you arrange a rugby trip just for our girls team?

Yes — we arrange tailored trips for girls teams with fixtures, travel, accommodation and a tour manager, built around your squad, your dates and your budget rather than a fixed festival weekend.

How do we find out who has already entered our age group?

Send us the festival and your age group and we will come back within one working day with the clubs already entered in that category and an honest read on how the entries are tracking. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
